Citrix has announced that Citrix Cloud Government is generally available to customers looking to upgrade or make their next investment into their existing Citrix XenApp or XenDesktop solution. As customers, you may we wondering about the differences between Citrix Cloud Government and Accelera’s Connected Workspace Government solution.
Citrix Cloud Government lifts and shifts the Citrix management plant to the cloud. It takes the management servers that are typically a part of a Citrix infrastructure, but moves that to Microsoft Azure Government and is managed by Citrix. So, your Delivery Controllers, SQL, NetScaler, StoreFront, and Licensing servers are all taken care of by Citrix. The VDI desktops or XenApp session hosts can be hosted wherever you want, so if you want them hosted on Azure Government – awesome. If not – you can host them on-premises. The point here is that customers are still responsible for the session hosts – wherever they are hosted and Citrix takes care of the management servers. Customers are still responsible for managing the solution once it’s deployed.
